10 Reasons to Buy in Spain

   
 

1. The Climate
Being able to see a blue sky practically every day is truly wonderful.  20ºC days in January make winters so much more bearable. Some might say that the summers get a little too hot but at the same time it makes for some excellent strolls along the “paseo” on those hot evenings.


2. Close to Home
Cheap Flights, an abundance of airlines and just two or three hours in the air means you’re never that far from home.  The major airports to travel to Costa Almeria are Alicante 2 hours, Málaga 2.5 hours, Granada 1.45 hours, Murcia San Javier 1.5 hours and Almería which is about 45 minutes from the show piece town of Mojacar. Times may vary depending on location.


3. Nice Neighbours
The Spanish have a reputation for being a friendly bunch and on the whole they certainly are.  They seem prepared to put up with everyone’s poor attempts to mutter something in Spanish and don’t take offence to sandals and socks.  Most communities will have a mixture of Spanish locals and expats and most of the time it’s a good mix.  People seem to make more of an effort to make friends when they are abroad so chances are you’ll make friends with your neighbours quite quickly.


4. Property Bargains

The market may be flooded with properties and somewhat slow at the moment but there are literally loads of nearly-new resale properties on the market. Developers giving great deals on key-ready new properties and through VIP Almeria we can offer these properties at up to 30%  below market value.  Two to three years ago when the market was really buoyant many investors bought handfuls of properties hoping to sell for huge profits now.  But too many developments and too many investors have saturated the market today, particularly two bedroom, two bathroom apartments.  If you want a bargain then look for these “distressed sales” where investors are willing to sell at cost or even at a loss to shift the mortgage repayments. Remember the mortgage terms were very flexible until recently so there are properties that are close to 100% financing (plus costs) by taking over the outstanding mortgage.
